EFFAS – EFRAG agreement to make CESGA ESRS compliant
Posted: 21 June 2024
We are very glad to announce that the EFFAS CESGA (Certified ESG Analyst) training programme will soon be ESRS compliant, thanks to a new agreement with EFRAG. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the evolution of ESG reporting standards across Europe.
In 2022, the European Commission tasked EFRAG with developing the draft European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and by December 2023, the first set of standards was officially published. This initiative aligns with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), enhancing the integrity of sustainability information provided to capital markets and stakeholders.
EFFAS is currently updating the CESGA learning materials to make the CESGA full ESRS compliant. This new CESGA 4.1 is planned for release in the fourth quarter of 2024. It will be an important step in the evolution of corporate reporting to be compliant with European regulations, where corporate reporting is on an equal footing with financial reporting. Corporate reporting will provide the capital markets and other stakeholders with high quality sustainability information on environmental, social and governance issues.
