EFFAS announces launch Climate Risk Analyst Programme (ECRA)
Posted: 22 May 2025
We are pleased to announce the launch of the EFFAS Climate Risk Analyst (ECRA) certification. The programme has been developed in response to the urgent need for professionals who can identify, evaluate and manage climate-related financial risks. ECRA is a joint initiative between EFFAS and Marsh McLennan.
As the financial sector faces increasing exposure to both physical risks—such as floods, heatwaves, storms—and transition risks arising from evolving climate policies, technologies, and market expectations, the need for advanced climate risk expertise has never been greater. The ECRA programme addresses this challenge head-on, combining scientific principles, financial modelling and regulatory knowledge to empower finance professionals to drive sustainable change and equip them with the essential skills to navigate the transition to a low-carbon economy.
In this short video, Prof. Dr. Emanuele Campiglio, Academic Director of the ECRA programme, highlights:
- Why climate risk knowledge matters in finance
- The three key skills for future climate risk professionals.
- How ECRA can prepare you to lead in a changing financial landscape
