The EFFAS Certified Investment Manager (ECIM) programme teaches you the principles of investing, including basic mathematical and statistical concepts such as the time value of money, discount factors, interest rates and expected rates of return. You will also gain an insight into the financial system, i.e. its components, financial intermediaries, key players and much more. Emphasis is also placed on the development of business cycles.
After studying the ECIM training programme, you will be able to identify the the definition and objectives of European financial regulation, the potential consequences of regulatory failure, the regulatory process and the importance of each step in the process. You will be able to identify specific types of regulation and describe the reasons for each, understand the elements of a company’s policies and procedures to ensure it complies with regulation, and the potential consequences of non-compliance.

The ECIM® programme is an online training, covering the complete examination syllabus. Training includes access to pre-recorded video lectures, lecture notes, practice exercises and multiple-choice questions. The training programme’s estimated learning time is 90 hours of self-study.
The ECIM® programme is focused on the professional background of analysts, portfolio managers, fund managers, CFOs, asset managers and all other financial professionals already working in the investment sector looking to further their prospects with an advanced qualification. Furthermore, selected elements of this programme can be regarded as a refresher on the basic mathematical, statistical and economical concepts underlying the investment industry.
Registration
Once you have completed the registration form (or via the 'Apply now' button at the top of this page) you will receive an invoice. Once we have received your payment we will complete your registration and give you access the learning platform for 9 months.
Exams
ECIM Common Exam sessions are organized by EFFAS two times a year. The exam has a duration of 150 minutes. The exams are online only.

Price & Certification
The price for the ECIM® programme is 1 800 EUR (VAT incl.), which includes 9 months access to the EFFAS learning management system and the online exam.
Candidates who pass the EFFAS common exam receive the ECIM® Diploma issued by EFFAS, an international certification highly valued by employers.
