According to Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 (SFDR), as of 10th March 2021 sustainability risks must be integrated in the financial reporting. Therefore, it is essential that participants in financial markets, advisors, and information providers have a basic knowledge of ESG.

The EFFAS ESG Essentials® program is the ideal training to make you understand the basics of ESG and integrate ESG data into your daily work. The training will provide you with the fundamental concepts and requirements to give basic guidance to investors in ESG matters. With the EFFAS ESG Essentials® certification, professionals in the sector can demonstrate that they have obtained basic ESG knowledge to complement their professional knowledge.

The ESG Essentials® program will provide you with a fundamental training of the latest trends in ESG financing. At the end of the program students will have a knowledge and understanding of:

How ESG matters are integrated into the different asset classes and which ESG financing instruments exist.

The ESG Essentials® program is an online training, and structured in five modules, including 2 case studies, covering the complete examination syllabus. Each module contains e-seminars (video recorded), course slides and a self-assessment centre with a limited number of multiple-choice questions, similar to the exam questions. The training program’s estimated learning time is 20 hours.

Practical information

Registration
After you have filled in the registration form (or via the 'Apply now' button at the top of this page) you will get an invoice. Once we received the payment we will complete your registration and grant you 4 months access the learning platform.

Exams
ESG Essentials Common Exam sessions are organized on a quarterly basis by EFFAS. The exam is comprised of 30 multiple-choice questions and has a duration of 90 minutes. The exams are online only.

Upcoming exams will be organized on:

11 March 2024 (registration from 11/11/2023 until 11/02/2024)
24 June 2024 (registration from 24/02 until 24/05/2024)
23 September 2024 (registration from 23/05 until 23/08/2024)
9 December 2024 (registration from 9/08 until 9/11/2024)

Price & Certification
The price for the ESG Essentials® program is 620 EUR (TVA incl.), including 4 months access to the EFFAS learning management system and the online exam.

Candidates who pass the EFFAS common exam receive the ESG Essentials® Diploma, granted by EFFAS, which is an international certification highly valued by employers.

Companies
Companies can get a license for the scorm files to implement in their own learning management system. Please contact us if you would like to receive more information this regard or if you want to register several employees at the same time.
